Research
One of our key aims is to use our clinical network as a platform for AKI research that will benefit patients. We hope to conduct large scale epidemiology studies of this condition as well as prospective studies to evaluate diagnostic methods, systems of care and therapeutic interventions. We are keen to help scientists turn basic science or technology innovations into translational opportunities. We will also consider industry partnerships for research that will lead to improved patient care.
There are outstanding opportunities for conducting AKI research in London. We serve a diverse population of high density. We have three academic health science centres (AHSCs), well-developed NIHR clinical research networks and several academic kidney, medical and critical care units. Recently London's three AHSCs signed a concordat to work collaboratively in biomedical discovery, information systems and translational research.
We intend to harness the breadth and depth of this collaboration, and London's academic medical resources, to enable collaborative, world class AKI research. Please contact us if you would like to develop AKI research projects through the network on info@londonaki.net.
